The study compares the powder and tablet direct compression characteristics of a spray-dried lactose-starch compound versus the physical blend of spray-dried lactose and native white corn starch.
The change in physical properties by co-spray drying is reported for excipients or a calcium-sorbitol compound.
The most important characteristics for direct compression are highlighted; these include compound stability, flowability, compaction behavior and disintegration as well as dissolution.
